Blogs by Dr. Carolyn Lefkowits
Dr. Carolyn Lefkowits was drawn to gynecologic oncology in order to help patients throughout the course of their illness, including surgical and non-surgical treatments, surveillance and follow-up care after treatment. She has an inherent love of the field and its collaborative nature, both among fellow clinicians and her patients.
She also enjoys the intellectual challenge of caring for complex conditions her patients have and keeping up-to-date on the latest therapeutic options. She treats a broad range of patient needs, including precancers and cancers of the cervix, ovary, uterus, vagina and vulva.
Dr. Lefkowits earned her medical degree from Harvard, her residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of California, San Francisco and completed her fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She is also fellowship trained and board certified in palliative care and has a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the Harvard School of Public Health and a Master of Science (MS) in medical education from the University of Pittsburgh.
